MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot

As I am totally addicted to make up videos I tend to get inspiration for new make up products to try out from them. I have seen many videos where youtubers use the MAC Pro longwear paint pot in soft ochre and thought I would invest in it to see what the hype was all about!

I recently purchased it from a MAC store and for £16 I hoped it would be worth it!
I used it the other day as a base for my eyeshadow because I have been finding that my eyeshadow does tend to fade throughout the day and I was hoping this would keep it more bold.

I set the product with a white eyeshadow and then did another eyeshadow look on top of it. I was absolutely amazed at how long my eyeshadow lasted throughout the day - the colour stayed on and had no fading. I have to say I wish I had purchased this earlier because it is such a good product which I would highly recommend for keeping your eyeshadow in place!

Let me know what you think of it!

MAC mineralize skin finish: soft & gentle

I have been wanting a new highlighter for ages and have been on the hunt trying to find one! Many of my friends have MACs lightscapade mineralize skin finish and I have to say this is also a lovely highlighter as it gives a really strong highlight and shimmer.

However, I wanted something a little more subtle and softer which would still give me a nice highlight. I came across MACs soft and gentle mineralize skin finish and tested it on my wrist and it came out in a golden shimmer which looked beautiful! I had read many reviews on this highlighter and have also seen lots of YouTube tutorials with people using it so I know it had a good name to it.

I did end up buying it and it was €29.50 -in the UK it is £24.50 I think but I got it when I was on holiday. The price of this was okay because I have heard that it lasts a really long time as a little goes a long way! It is really worth the money I think as it gives such a beautiful finish and is easy to blend and apply.

Overall I'm really happy with this product and think that if you're looking for a subtle highlight then this is definitely the product for you!

What are your favourite highlighters?

Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner

Sorry that this is the second eyeliner post in two weeks but I thought I would give this eyeliner a review. After hearing raving reviews about it I thought that I would try it out.

Benefit make-up is normally very good and the quality of it is amazing so I had high expectations for this eyeliner especially as it was very expensive for a student budget (£18.50!!). I had read very positive reviews so I was excited to try it out. It has a gel formula and the design of the actual packaging is really good in which it has an angled end where there product comes out. This would have been perfect but what I didn't like was the product itself!

Firstly to get the product out you have to twist it and then it comes out, when you first get it you should test it out on your hand first to get it at more of an angle to get it to apply easily. I did this and I found that the product was very dry and sort of broke up as I tried to apply it. Also I found it IMPOSSIBLE to get this in a thin and straight line, the product seemed to apply extremely thickly and unevenly. I thought maybe it was the way I was applying it so tried 4 or 5 times to try and perfect top eyeliner with this product - each time I had no luck! I just ended up getting more frustrated because the product never seemed to apply smoothly and broke up each time.

Moreover, the last time I tried to use this eyeliner nothing would come out when I twisted it but suddenly it exploded and I had black eyeliner all over my hand, needless to say it was a pain to clear up because it is very waterproof and very intense in its pigment of colour.

I personally was extremely disappointed with this eyeliner because I had such high hopes of it! If you have this eyeliner how do you find it?

Perfect Nude Nail Varnish!

Recently I decided I needed a new nude nail varnish and was searching for the perfect one to wear. I find nude nail varnishes hard to find because sometimes they are not as opaque as I would like and  they take lots of layers to build up! Also another problem I have with some nude nail varnishes is that they are more pink than nude - this is just a personal preference as I prefer them more nude than pinky-nude!

I was hunting for a new one to try when I saw the Max Factor Glossfinity nail varnish in the colour 'dessert sand' (number 25). In the container the colour of the nail varnish looks a really opaque nude and looked like the colour I wanted. I got the nail varnish and tried it out as soon as I got home. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised because the nail varnish has a really good consistency and was true to the colour it looked in the container. I used about 2-3 coats of it to get a completely opaque finish and I found this was good seeing as I can normally have about 7-8 coats of some colours!! On the container it says it says you can have "glossy nails for up to 7 days" and this seems to be true, I have been wearing this colour for the past 4 days and it doesn't look like it is going to chip soon and the shine of the nail varnish is still there!

Overall, I think this nail varnish is really good, and if you are looking for a new nude nail varnish I would definitely recommend this one. For the price of £5.99 I found this was totally worth getting it and you can pick it up at quite a few stores. I got mine from Boots (link here) but lots of places sell it eg. Superdrug and Tesco, and Max Factor normally have offers on like buy one get one half price so it is definitely worth investing in it!

What are your favourite nude nail varnishes? Let me know!
