New Boots from PrettyLittleThing.com

Hi everyone,

Everything is a bit hectic at the moment but I hope to be posting more regualarly after the 17th of June as that is when I finish exams!

However, recently I picked up a gorgeous pair of new boots. They are the Kalia Grey Faux Suede Perspex Heel Ankle Boots from prettylittlething.com. I saw them online and instantly fell in love with them, I feel the colour is perfect for this time of year when you want to wear ankle boots but not particularly the usual black ones as these can be a bit dark, especially as we are coming towards the summer!

The main thing which I love about these boots is the perspex heel. The design of these boots is so cute and I feel this type of heel adds something special to them as it makes them more interesting. I have to say these boots are actually really comfortable and they have a heel of 3.5 inches which I find good because I can last all day in them! I know this will be extremely beneficial because then I can wear them out because I know I will get a lot of use out of them this year.

These boots have 14% off at the moment so are £30 which I feel is a bargain for them especially as I am going to get so much wear out of them! Let me know what you guys think of them!

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot

As I am totally addicted to make up videos I tend to get inspiration for new make up products to try out from them. I have seen many videos where youtubers use the MAC Pro longwear paint pot in soft ochre and thought I would invest in it to see what the hype was all about!

I recently purchased it from a MAC store and for £16 I hoped it would be worth it!
I used it the other day as a base for my eyeshadow because I have been finding that my eyeshadow does tend to fade throughout the day and I was hoping this would keep it more bold.

I set the product with a white eyeshadow and then did another eyeshadow look on top of it. I was absolutely amazed at how long my eyeshadow lasted throughout the day - the colour stayed on and had no fading. I have to say I wish I had purchased this earlier because it is such a good product which I would highly recommend for keeping your eyeshadow in place!

Let me know what you think of it!

Light Brown Leather Knee High Heeled Boots

For the past year I have been searching and searching to find a pair of knee high boots which I know I will get a lot of use out of. Knee high boots have been popping up everywhere which has made me even more determined to find a pair!

I was shopping with friends on a holiday to Amsterdam and came across this gorgeous pair of knee high boots in a light brown with a gold trim above the heel. I instantly fell in love with these boots but not the price tag!! The boots are £120 which is expensive but they are real leather and don't look cheap or tacky like some fake leather boots do.

After returning from our holiday I was still contemplating over getting these boots, the only thing stopping me was the price. However, out of pure coincidence I was looking on the ASOS website and came across the exact boots for £90 instead of £120. I think this must have been due to some form of sale but I was over the moon with this reduction and ordered them immediately. Sadly this deal is no longer available so the boots are back up to £120 in River Island and on ASOS (link here).

I personally am very pleased with these boots because I know I will get a lot a use out of them as I have been searching everywhere for a pair of knee high boots! Also the gold trim above the heel gives the boots a little more to them and makes them look even prettier! If you saw my earlier blog post on my essential jacket for this autumn these boots go perfectly with this! The heel height is 9cm which for some people can be a bit too much for a pair of boots to be worn daily, but I find the heel is not too bad and I can survive quite a long time in them without being in too much pain! I highly recommend these boots as I think they're absolutely gorgeous and perfect for this Autumn!

What do you think of knee high boots?

MAC mineralize skin finish: soft & gentle

I have been wanting a new highlighter for ages and have been on the hunt trying to find one! Many of my friends have MACs lightscapade mineralize skin finish and I have to say this is also a lovely highlighter as it gives a really strong highlight and shimmer.

However, I wanted something a little more subtle and softer which would still give me a nice highlight. I came across MACs soft and gentle mineralize skin finish and tested it on my wrist and it came out in a golden shimmer which looked beautiful! I had read many reviews on this highlighter and have also seen lots of YouTube tutorials with people using it so I know it had a good name to it.

I did end up buying it and it was €29.50 -in the UK it is £24.50 I think but I got it when I was on holiday. The price of this was okay because I have heard that it lasts a really long time as a little goes a long way! It is really worth the money I think as it gives such a beautiful finish and is easy to blend and apply.

Overall I'm really happy with this product and think that if you're looking for a subtle highlight then this is definitely the product for you!

What are your favourite highlighters?

Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner

Sorry that this is the second eyeliner post in two weeks but I thought I would give this eyeliner a review. After hearing raving reviews about it I thought that I would try it out.

Benefit make-up is normally very good and the quality of it is amazing so I had high expectations for this eyeliner especially as it was very expensive for a student budget (£18.50!!). I had read very positive reviews so I was excited to try it out. It has a gel formula and the design of the actual packaging is really good in which it has an angled end where there product comes out. This would have been perfect but what I didn't like was the product itself!

Firstly to get the product out you have to twist it and then it comes out, when you first get it you should test it out on your hand first to get it at more of an angle to get it to apply easily. I did this and I found that the product was very dry and sort of broke up as I tried to apply it. Also I found it IMPOSSIBLE to get this in a thin and straight line, the product seemed to apply extremely thickly and unevenly. I thought maybe it was the way I was applying it so tried 4 or 5 times to try and perfect top eyeliner with this product - each time I had no luck! I just ended up getting more frustrated because the product never seemed to apply smoothly and broke up each time.

Moreover, the last time I tried to use this eyeliner nothing would come out when I twisted it but suddenly it exploded and I had black eyeliner all over my hand, needless to say it was a pain to clear up because it is very waterproof and very intense in its pigment of colour.

I personally was extremely disappointed with this eyeliner because I had such high hopes of it! If you have this eyeliner how do you find it?

L'Oreal Paris Superliner Superstar

My absolute favourite eyeliner (Kat Von D tattoo eyeliner) recently ran out and I urgently needed a new one! I went down to superdrug and was trying out lots of them on my hand to see which was opaque and smudge proof when I came across the L'Oreal Paris Superliner Superstar in black. I tried it on my hand and it seemed opaque and when I tried to smudge it it didn't move! I bought the eyeliner and it was £6.99 (link here) so it was a lot cheaper than the Kat Von D one ($19).

As eyeliners go I have to say I am fairly impressed with this one. It has a felt tip style to it and it has a wider base with a thin tip. The tip is very flexible which makes it much easier to glide onto the eyelid. Using the eyeliner is easy and it comes out very opaque and dramatic which is what I like! It did last all night when I was out and didn't smudge. Overall I think this is actually a really good eyeliner and I would think about using it as my main one - unless I manage to get another Kat Von D one! I am just not sure about how long it will last as some felt tip eyeliners tend to dry out fast but I will keep you updated!

What are your favourite eyeliners?

These are pictures of the eyeliner on with a shimmery gold and a brown MAC eyeshadow from the x15 warm neutral palette. As you can see it can give you a nice wing which is easy to create and the eyeliner itself is opaque and did not fade.

Holographic Heels!

My newest purchase I am in love with are these holographic heels from missguided.co.uk (link here). I saw them on the website and was immediately attracted to the shininess of them! These shoes are so pretty, when the light catches them they show all different colours which I think makes them really unique.

I got them to go with a black dress (link here) to wear for a 21st Birthday. This dress I also love was from misguided as well! These shoes I felt went well with the dress and I wore them all night. The heel is roughly 12cm /4.5" so they are fairly high and with no platform at the front of the shoe all your weight is on the front of your foot. However, these shoes have a cushioning bit which you can see in the photo - this makes wearing these shoes so comfy as it takes away some of the pressure and cushions your foot more! I know some people find walking in heels - especially stilettos - very hard and I am one of these people! But, I found these heels surprisingly easy to walk in and managed to last in them all night!

Overall I think these heels are well worth the £25 and I know I will wear them lots! Let me know what you think of them!
