MAC 90 minute make-up lesson

For my birthday I received a MAC 90 minute make-up up lesson. These lessons cost £50 however, you can spend that money on any products in MAC after the lesson. Its basically like a voucher with a make-up lesson included!
We went to the MAC store and I sat down in this chair and then someone came over and we spoke about what sort of thing I wanted to concentrate on and what colours would suit me etc.

First of all I chose to concentrate mainly on my eyes and as I have green eyes the person who was doing my make up (Sabrina) decided that a purpley smokey eye would be good, to bring out my eyes, with a winged eyeliner. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant with the purple because I usually stick to safe neutral gold and browns when I do eyeshadow. However, i was very pleased with the end result!

After doing my eyes and eyebrows we went onto the skin. I decided that I wanted a foundation which would give me a bit more coverage because I have red-thread veins on my cheeks and I do like to hide them because I don't really like them even though they're not very noticeable. Also because I have fairly dry skin she used moisturiser and primer to make it easier for the foundation to stay on. The foundation we used was the matchmaster SPF 15 foundation - and I have to say this is now one of my favourite foundations because it is very lightweight and can give you  flawless coverage. Then she used highlighter, bronzer and blusher in order to finish the look as well as a coral/pink lipstick.

In the end when it came to choosing a few products I chose the foundation, the eyeshadow palette (which had to be made due to the actual palette being discontinued) and a lip liner. The lip liner I chose was to match my 'rebel' lipstick which is from mac. This lipstick is one of my favourites and I needed a lip liner so asked which was the best to go with this shade and ended up getting the shade 'plum'.

  1. I was introduced to the Matchmaster when I went out with a friend to buy foundation but found that the warmer shades tend to oxidise a little more darker over time. In my friend's case it turn out kind of orange-y. What do you think? How did it hold up?

    1. I personally have not had any trouble with this foundation and have found that it stays the same colour. I have to say this is a very good foundation and it lasts throughout the day whilst keeping up a good coverage! I hope this helps!
